Introduction
Our suppliers are a vital part of our team and we trust them to help us deliver the highest quality you expect from your McDonald’s meal.
Buying Irish
At McDonald’s Ireland, we endeavour to buy from Irish suppliers as long as they can pass our high safety and hygiene standards.
We use over 20 different local Irish suppliers to provide us with over €12.5 million worth of goods and services every year.
Many of our key ingredients including beef, dairy products and eggs are sourced in Ireland. For example, we buy €85 million worth of Irish beef and €64 million worth of cheese from Northern Ireland to export to our restaurants in Europe.
It’s a win/win situation for everyone: we help Irish food producers grow their business and they supply us with top-notch ingredients to make your favourite McDonald’s meal.
Standards
We check the quality of our food at every stage from farm to you. All our suppliers must pass the standards laid down by Irish and EU legislation about, among other things, animal welfare, transportation and husbandry as well as our own specific standards on these topics
All our meat and poultry have quality checks carried out on every batch and are prepared and packaged at meat suppliers who hold third party accreditation.
